Osmo TopOil is a hardwax-oil finish made for wood countertops, butcher block, tables, cutting boards and furniture. Once fully dry, it is certified for direct food contact. The finish resists common kitchen spills while keeping the wood's natural feel and making worn areas straightforward to refresh.

Application methods
Brush: Shake well. Apply a thin coat in all directions, then finish your brush strokes with the grain to level the surface. Redistribute any visible excess instead of leaving a heavy build. Let it dry for 8–10 hours with good ventilation, then repeat.
Lint-free cloth: Rub a very thin coat into the wood in circular or figure-eight motions. Wait about 15 minutes, then use a clean cloth to work with the grain and remove every trace of excess. There should not be a film sitting on top. Apply three to four coats, allowing 8–10 hours between coats.
Osmo also publishes application amounts for microfiber rollers, flat brushes, applicator fleece and white pads. The right number of coats depends on the applicator and wood species. White-pad and cloth application are not Osmo's preferred methods for high-wear surfaces unless the required finish amount is achieved.
Cleaning and maintenance
Clean TopOil surfaces with Osmo Spray Cleaner. Avoid harsh or abrasive household cleaners that can strip the oils and waxes. When water stops beading or the surface begins to look worn, clean it thoroughly and apply a thin refresh coat. Small areas can usually be repaired without refinishing the entire piece.
Good to know
TopOil is food-safe when fully dry - not while it is wet or curing. Test the chosen color and application method on the actual wood. Oil-soaked cloths can heat up as they dry, so follow the disposal directions on the container.
