Osmo - Oil Stain - Interior Wood Stain

Osmo Oil Stain is a professional color coat for wood floors, stairs, furniture, OSB and cork flooring. One coat keeps the grain more visible; a second builds a deeper color. Oil Stain is not the final protective finish - it must be covered with clear Polyx-Oil or another Osmo-approved clear topcoat.

Application methods

Start with properly sanded, clean and dry wood. Stir thoroughly. Spread a very thin, even coat with a Double Blade Scraper, microfiber roller or Floor Brush. On furniture and small areas, use a lint-free cloth. Work the stain into the wood with a clean white pad; a clean microfiber roller can be used within 30 minutes to remove brush marks and even the color.

Let the first coat dry for about 12 hours with good ventilation. Apply a second color coat only when a stronger tone is wanted, then allow it to dry completely. Finish the project with the correct clear Polyx-Oil coat schedule.

Good to know

Oil Stain alone is not adequate protection against normal wear, moisture and spills. White 3501 can show dirt and natural yellowing more readily; Osmo recommends a white-pigmented Polyx-Oil topcoat for white floors. Natural 3519 can leave light streaks on red or dark woods, so a trial area is essential.

• 0.125 L (125 mL) can: Approx. 33 to 65 sq ft per coat
• 1 L can: Approx. 260 to 516 sq ft per coat
